NIGERIAN AMERICAN POLITICAL FORUM., a wholly owned subsidiary of NIGERIAN AMERICAN DEMOCRACY INSTITUTE INC, announced today that it will host Dr. Peter Mbah., PDP Governorship Candidate, Enugu State. The Diaspora Zoom Meeting is scheduled for Sunday, November 6th, 2022 at 2.30PM EST and 7.30PM Nigerian Time.
NIGERIAN AMERICAN DEMOCRACY INSTITUTE INC., advances, deepens and enhances democracy and freedom for Nigerian Americans by encouraging them to actively engage and participate in the political process both in the United States and Nigeria. We are a non-partisan, non-profit and non-governmental organization. Our main focus is democracy advocacy and the Diaspora Zoom Meeting will be an ongoing event to provide a platform for civil discourse between the candidates of various political offices and the electorates who will vote them into the offices.
The Diaspora Zoom Meeting will be moderated by Prof. Eze Sunny Udeh, Ph.D. There are three co-moderators, Prof. Vitus Ozoke, Ph.D, Dr/Mrs. Amaka Oduh, Pharm.D and Chief/Dr/Mrs. Ife Sinachi Ugwuonye-Okechukwu, JD.
There will be several invited co-hosts who will assist to provide an engaging environment with brief comments about democracy. After the opening remarks and comments by the moderator, co-moderators and co-hosts, the candidate will be given the floor to address the audience. After the candidate’s presentation there will be a brief Questions and Answers session starting with comments/questions from the co-moderators, and then the audience. We will close with a vote of thanks by one of the co-hosts M.O. Ene, Ph.D.
A short biography
Peter Ndubuisi Mbah hails from Owo in Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State, Nigeria. He studied law at the University of East London, UK, attended the Nigerian Law School, and was called to the Nigerian Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. He earned the Master of Laws (LLM) degree in maritime and commercial law from Lagos State University. He holds an MBA (Master of Business Administration) from IESE Business School, Barcelona, Spain, and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in political science, honoris causa, from Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu. He is also a graduate of Lagos Business School Executive Program and holds a postgraduate diploma in strategy and innovation from the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, England, UK. He has participated in several executive certificate programs at Harvard Business School and Stanford University, USA.
An entrepreneur par excellence and a great philanthropist, Dr. Peter Mbah, ventured into business at an early age with an eye for possibilities where others see failures. From ground zero but with focus, creativity, innovation, and pursuit of excellence, he founded many profitable and successful businesses with national and global impacts. His signature investment, Pinnacle Oil and Gas Limited, began as a neophyte in the oil and gas industry in Nigeria. From a near-bottom position, the company has grown to a pole position in a competitive market already dominated by many large players. On October 22, 2022. President Muhammadu Buhari commissioned Pinnacle Terminal, Lekki, Lagos, a world-class petroleum terminal for efficient exports and imports of petroleum products.
The leadership successes of Dr. Mbah are also evident and impactful in public service and governance of Enugu State. He served creditably as Chief of Staff to Governor Chimaroke Nnamani and Commissioner for Finance, where he headed many agencies and introduced defining templates for effective governance.
With humility and a great sense of purpose, Dr. Mbah has offered himself to serve as Governor of Enugu State. He has presented a manifesto for “Building a Peaceful and Secure, Highly Developed, and Purposeful State for All.” His comprehensive statement of purpose proposes to move Enugu State “from Good to Great,” make it one of the top three states in Nigeria in terms of Gross National Domestic Product (GDP) and achieve a zero percent rate in the poverty headcount index. His mission and vision entail moving the GDP from $4.4 billion to $30 billion in eight years by delivering quality, people-focused governance and by making Enugu State the preferred destination for investment, business, tourism, and living.
Dr. Mbah has emerged from the vicissitudes of life, from the proverbial ashes, to soar like the eagle over an iroko. His true-life experiences are the wind beneath his wings that propel him to serve and, together with Ndi Enugu, create wealth and prosperity for all.
