NIGERIAN AMERICAN POLITICAL FORUM., a wholly owned subsidiary of NIGERIAN AMERICAN DEMOCRACY INSTITUTE INC, announced today that it will host Hon. Frank Nweke Jnr., APGA Governorship Candidate for Enugu State. The Diaspora Zoom Meeting is scheduled for Sunday, October 16th, 2022 at 2.30PM EST and 7.30PM Nigerian Time.
NIGERIAN AMERICAN DEMOCRACY INSTITUTE INC., advances, deepens and enhances democracy and freedom for Nigerian Americans by encouraging them to actively engage and participate in the political process both in the United States and Nigeria. We are a non-partisan, non-profit and non-governmental organization. Our main focus is democracy advocacy and the Diaspora Zoom Meeting will be an ongoing event to provide a platform for civil discourse between the candidates of various political offices and the electorates who will vote them into the offices.
The Diaspora Zoom Meeting will be moderated by Prof. Eze Sunny Udeh, Ph.D. There are two co-moderators, Prof. Vitus Ozoke, Ph.D and Dr/Mrs. Amaka Oduh, Pharm.D.
There will be several co-hosts who will assist to provide an engaging environment with opening remarks and comments. The format is simple. After the opening remarks and comments by the moderator and co-hosts, the candidate will be given the floor to address the audience. After the candidate’s presentation there will be a brief Questions and Answers session followed by a vote of thanks by one of the co-hosts.
A short biography
He was born in Lagos into the family of Late Igwe HRH Frank Nweke of Ishi Ozalla, Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State on September 18, 1965.
He holds a Bachelor of Technology Degree in Zoology from the Federal University of Technology, Yola. He also holds a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Maiduguri.
He attended the Harvard Kennedy School of Government where he obtained a second Master’s degree in Public Administration and Certificate in Strategic Management. He is an Edward S. Mason fellow and alumnus of Aspen Institute, Colorado.
Until recently, he was a Senior Visiting Fellow of the Lagos Business School and a member of the faculty, the School of Politics, Policy and Governance SPPG, Nigeria, where he lectured on Ethics and Values.
His political career and experience started when he was commissioned as a resident consultant of the Enugu State government on development planning and general public sector reforms. He was appointed Enugu State coordinator of the Community County Council.In June 2001 he was appointed to the position of Chief of Staff to the Governor of Enugu State
In 2003, he was appointed Federal Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs and Special Duties.In 2005, he was appointed Minister of Information and National Orientation and then Minister of Information and Communication in January 2007, an office he occupied until May 2007.
He is the APGA Governorship Candidate for Enugu State in the 2023 election.
He is described as an ethical, exemplary and proven leader with two decades of demonstrated success in high-level career roles spanning the public, private and civic sectors. He is a two-time Federal Minister in Nigeria and former Director General of Nigerian Economic Summit Group.
