NIGERIAN AMERICAN DEMOCRACY INSTITUTE INC., advances, deepens and enhances democracy and freedom for Nigerian Americans by encouraging them to actively engage and participate in the political process both in the United States and Nigeria. We are a non-partisan, non-profit and non-governmental organization. Our main focus is democracy advocacy and the Diaspora Zoom Meeting will be an ongoing event to provide a platform for civil discourse between the candidates of various political offices and the electorates who will vote them into the offices.
The Diaspora Zoom Meeting will be moderated by Prof. Eze Sunny Udeh, Ph.D. There will be several co-hosts who will assist to provide an engaging environment with opening remarks and comments. The format is simple. After the opening remarks and comments by the moderator and co-hosts, the candidate will be given the floor to address the audience. After the candidate’s presentation there will be a brief Questions and Answers session followed by a vote of thanks by one of the co-hosts.

A short biography
Hon. Barr. Chijioke Jonathan Edeoga was born into the family of Late Mr. Jonathan and Mrs. Jemimah Edeoga of Omulor Mgbuji, Eha-Amufu in Isi-Uzo LGA on October 2nd 1964
He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and a Bachelor of Law Degree from the University of Buckingham, United Kingdom. He also holds a Masters of Law from the University of London. He was called to the Nigerian Bar.
Hon. Barrister Edeoga is also a Journalist who worked in various Newspaper houses, including Daily Star, the Outlook, the Champion and the Post Express. He received the Nigerian Union of Journalist (NUJ) award for excellence in Feature Writing.
His political career and experience started with an appointment as the Press Secretary by Executive Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo. He was elected Chairman of Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu state.
He was elected to the House of Representatives. He was the Chairman, House Committee on information and Spokesperson for the House.
He was an Adviser on Legislative Matters to the former Deputy President of the Senate. He was appointed as the Special Assistant to Former President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on National Assembly Matters.
He was appointed the Commissioner for Local Government Matters in Enugu State 2015 -2019. He was reappointed as the Commissioner for the Ministry of Environment in Enugu State 2019 -2022.
Hon. Barrister Edeoga is the Governorship Candidate for Labor Party for the 2023 election
